UK Qualifications Recognition for Australia

Eligible applicants can apply for this recognition process regardless of their registration status in the UK.

Eligibility

UK graduates seeking to be recognised in Australia must have the following:

  • United Kingdom Architects Registration Board (UK ARB) prescribed qualifications Part 1 and Part 2.

Application Process

  1. UK ARB Certificate of Eligibility: Applicants must obtain their Certificate of Eligibility from UK ARB prior to applying to AACA.
  2. AACA Application: Please refer to the following key document:

Applications are generally finalised within 3 weeks. Timeframes are dependent upon the submission of all required documentation.

Outcome

Suitable Assessment Outcome

Suitable applicants are provided with a AACA Statement of Recognition that acts as an authority to apply for the Architectural Practice Examination (APE) with an Australian State or Territory Architects Registration Board, subject to eligibility criteria (including practical experience logbook).

Applicants can also request from AACA an Australian Migration Skills Assessment for the occupation ‘Architect’, OSCA Code 241131 (previously ANZSCO code 232111.)

UK Qualifications Recognition $950

A card transaction surcharge applies to all payments (1.49% for Australian cards and 2.9% for international cards). Application fees for ARB UK are not included in the figures above.
