I am pleased to announce that Kate Doyle has been appointed as the Interim CEO of the AACA. Kate brings over 30 years of leadership experience in not-for-profit organisations. She is highly skilled in governance, stakeholder engagement, and policy development gained through senior roles in not-for-profit and government sectors. She is recognised for her integrity and ability to foster partnerships that deliver process improvements, particularly in education and assessment.
As Registrar of the NSW Architects Registration Board in the early 2000s, Kate oversaw the implementation of the revised Architects Act. From 2014 to 2021, as CEO of the AACA, she led assessment program reviews in collaboration with architect registration boards, academia, and industry bodies resulting in streamlined high-quality programs and reduced red tape for overseas graduates and architects. Kate also implemented a review of the Architecture Program Accreditation Procedure and led the 2020/21 review of the National Standard of Competency for Architects.
Directors, staff and members welcome Kate to the role. Kate is the ideal leader during this period of transition. She will lead the AACA until the Board appoints a new CEO on a more permanent basis.
