2027 Architectural Practice Examination Dates Announced

Candidates who wish to undertake the APE in 2027 must submit their Part 1 application (logbook and statement of practice) directly to the relevant Architect Registration Board (ARB) on or before the following dates:

  • Session 1
    • Thursday, 28 January 2027
  • Session 2
    • ACT, NSW, NT, QLD, TAS, VIC, WA – Thursday, 8 July 2027
    • SA – Thursday, 15 July 2027

Applicants for Part 1 and Part 2 may only apply to one jurisdiction.

Applicants for Part 3 may also only apply to one jurisdiction. This may be either the same jurisdiction in which the applicant completed Part 1 and Part 2, or a different jurisdiction.

If an applicant submits applications to multiple jurisdictions within the same examination session for Part 1, Part 2 or Part 3, all applications will be rejected. The applicant will be required to submit a new application in the next or a subsequent examination session.

In these circumstances:

  • Part 1 fees paid to the relevant ARB will be forfeited.
  • Part 2 fees may be refunded, subject to the relevant ARBs refund policy.
  • Part 3 fees paid to the relevant ARB will be forfeited.

Check with your relevant ARB for clarification about jurisdiction-specific time requirements.

AACA 2027 Logbook

The AACA Logbook is an online platform. Once you have completed your logbook online you will be able to download a PDF document and submit it with your application. Candidates should also check any other Board specific requirements before submitting APE Part 1 documents.
